Riga Cycling Conference is held annualy on the last Friday of November by Latvian Cyclists Union and Riga City Council. It is the biggest cycling conference in the Baltics and possibly in the Eastern Europe. Each year the conference has a different topic – “Movement in Planning: Health, Economics, Education and Safety” in 2014, “Culture: Lifestyle, Relationships, Space” in 2013.

In the 2015, the topic is “We will not be able to design and ride like we used to”, because in the conference we will introduce the newly adopted traffic rules and the new state standard for designing cycling infrastructure. Therefore the participants of this years conference will mostly be professionals – architects, planners, designers, infrastructure maintenance professionals and transport infrastructure experts. Speakers are: Minister Transport of Latvia, Mayor of Riga and highly skilled professionals from Latvia, Netherlands and Finland.

The conference is organised jointly by Traffic Department of the Riga City Council and Latvian Cyclists Association
